On March 8, Dr. Wu Shicun, Chairman of the Huayang Center for Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance (hereafter referred to as "Huayang Center") and Chairman of the Academic Committee of the National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS), visited Yancheng City for a research trip. During his visit, Dr. Wu inspected the third plant of Jiangsu Yueda Kia Motors Co. Ltd. and the Yellow Sea Wetland Museum, and learned about Yancheng's remarkable achievements in the development of new energy vehicle industry, as well as the wetland ecological conservation and development. Dr. Wu also visited Jiangsu Yancheng National Rare Birds Nature Reserve, Jiangsu Fenghai New Energy Seawater Desalination Development Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Dafeng Elk National Nature Reserve on March 10.
On March 9, the "Yellow Sea Development and Protection – Yancheng Practice II: Dafeng" seminar was held in Dafeng District, Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province. This event was co-organized by Huayang Center for Yellow Sea Studies and the Huayang Center. More than 40 experts from think tanks, universities, research institutions and governments from Jiangsu and Zhejiang Province attended the seminar. The attendees conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as "Ideas and Measures for Developing Marine New Quality Productive Forces", "High-Quality Development of the Marine Economy: Resource Development and Environmental Protection", and "Protection and Development of Dafeng Dongsha Island".
Dr. Wu delivered a welcome speech for the seminar and presided over the sub-topic discussions. Professor Chi Fulin, President of the China Institute of Reform and Development (CIRD) and the Hainan Institute for Free Trade Port Studies, along with Zhu Huayou, Vice Chairman of the Huayang Center and Executive President of Haikou University of Economics, also presided over the sub-topic discussions.
The seminar also featured speeches from prominent experts, including Zhou Chenghu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and PhD supervisor at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Nature Resources Research at the CAS, Lv Bin, President of the China Oceanic Development Foundation (CODF), Yi Xianliang, former Chinese Ambassador to Norway, Zhang Zhanbin, Director of the Chinese Modernization Research Center at the Central Party School (National Academy of Governance), Bao Hongjun, Deputy Director of the Financial and Economic Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress, Yang Hongsheng, Researcher at the Institute of Oceanology of CAS, and Gaoshu, President of the Yancheng Yellow Sea Wetland Institute and Professor at Nanjing University.
