Sorajak Kasemsuvan

Dr. Sorajak Kasemsuvan holds an LL.M. degree from the University College, University of London and a Ph.D. in international law from the London School of Economics and Political Science. After his graduation, he began his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and subsequently joined the Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. He became Director-General of the Mass Communication Organization of Thailand (MCOT) between 1999-2002, a state enterprise that runs national TV and radio station nation-wide, where in 2012 he also returned to become its Chairman of the Board of Directors. He served as Thailand’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vice Minister for Culture and for the Prime Minister’s Office between 2002-2006.

Between 2007-2009, Dr. Sorajak was appointed Executive Director of the International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD), a public organization in Thailand jointly established by UNCTAD and the Thai Government.

Between October 2012 – January 2014, he was President of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited.

He was Dean of the Law School, Assumption University, Bangkok in 1999 and President of Stamford International University, Bangkok in 2009. He has taught international air law, public international law, and international law for natural resources in several universities in Thailand since 1993.

Currently, he is a Council Member of the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council (APRC), Academic Director of Saranrom Institute of Foreign Affairs (SIFA), and Vice Chairman of the Council of the Rajamangala Technology University Isan, Thailand.
