About Us
China-Southeast Asia Research Center on the South China Sea (CSARC) is a non-profit, non-governmental international organization. It is dedicated to enhancing exchanges and cooperation among think-tanks of China and ASEAN countries, as well as its partners and supporting parties through its established networks, on issues of the South China Sea.
CSARC aims to promote joint research on solutions to regional issues of the South China Sea in various fields, such as:
- Traditional and non-traditional security
- Marine environmental protection
- Marine scientific research
- Safety of navigation and communication at sea
- Joint development and management of natural resources
- Crisis prevention and management
Mission
Our mission is to conduct in-depth research leading to new policy initiatives for solving disputes facing the local, national and regional level in order to bring more peace and prosperity to the entirety of the region.
Member Organizations
Since its inception in March 2016, CSARC has incorporated seven member organizations including:
- Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP), Cambodia
- National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS), China
- Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Indonesia
- Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), Malaysia
- Philippine Institute for Peace, Violence and Terrorism Research (PIPVTR), the Philippines
- S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
- Saranrom Institute of Foreign Affairs Foundation (SIFAF), Thailand
