Matthew Geraci

Matthew Geraci leads the ICAS Maritime Issue Tracker Program, which applies an interactive geo-positioning system, to the South China Sea, East China Sea, and the Arctic to facilitate real time consideration of sensitive territorial, economic, legal, and international issues. His most recent publication, Blue Dots and Red Roads, analyzes economic and geopolitical competitive frictions between U.S. and Chinese international development models, as well as the emerging burdens caused by COVID-19.

He earned his MA in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. He spent his first year of graduate study living in China at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center, where the majority of his coursework was conducted in Mandarin Chinese. He received his BA in East Asian Studies with a concentration in China from Bucknell University. He recently became a member of the Pacific Forum’s Young Leaders Program.
