The Ninth "Huayang Talk" Academic Salon Held in Haikou

On the afternoon of June 18, the 9th session of the "Huayang Talk" academic salon, themed "China-India Relations amid China-U.S. Strategic Rivalry", was held at the Haikou office of the Huayang Center. The salon was co-hosted by Huayang Center for Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance (Huayang Center) and National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS).

Dr. Zeng Xiangyu, Associate Research Fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies at Sichuan University and Director of the Center for Indian Ocean Studies, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the development of Hindu nationalism, the India–China boundary question, the conflicts over water, China-India-Pakistan relations, and the evolution of China-U.S.-India relations. He also responded to questions from participants on issues such as China-India-Russia trilateral relations, India's bid for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council, and the so-called "demographic dividend" of India.

Chen Xiangmiao, Director of Center for South China Sea History and Culture at NISCSS and Research Fellow at Huayang Center, moderated this event.

Wu Shicun, Chairman of Huayang Center and Chairman of the Academic Committee of NISCSS, Lin Yongxin, Vice President of NISCSS, and over 50 representatives from Huayang Center, NISCSS, Xinhua News Agency, Hainan University, and Hainan Normal University attended the event.
