On April 25, the sixth "Huayang Talk" academic salon on "People-to-People Diplomacy and China-US Relations" was held in the Haikou office of the Huayang Center for Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance (hereinafter referred to as the "Huayang Center"). This event was co-organized by the Huayang Center and the National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS).
Dr. Wu Shicun, Chairman of the Huayang Center and Chairman of the Academic Committee of NISCSS, presided over the event. Ambassador Huang Ping, former Chinese Consul General in New York, drew on his diplomatic experience to highlight the important role of people-to-people diplomacy in China-US relations. He also elaborated on the urgency and significance of strengthening people-to-people exchanges and enhancing mutual understanding between the US and China under the current circumstances.
Over 40 representatives from the Huayang Center, NISCSS, Hainan Provincial Government, and Hainan Normal University attended the event.
During the event, Dr. Wu Shicun accompanied Ambassador Huang Ping and visited the Haikou office area and conference facilities of the Huayang Center.
